Coming from a journalism background, Phyllis Heltay is now a full-time writer in Calgary. She has had her fiction aired on CBC Radio and published in various literary magazines, has written ten screeplays, and is currently working on two projects writing for television. Her feature comedy, Something Human, has been optioned by New City Productions in Vancouver.

After working extensively as an assistant director, and then as a creative and producing partner with Thom Fitzgerald, two years ago Shandi returned to her first passions, writing and directing. Shandi has received awards for her scripts Baba's House and The Unhinging of Wings, as well as for her creative non-fiction. Touch the Moon is Shandi's most recent feature. She lives in Wellington, Nova Scotia.

Originally British, Katharine settled in Vancouver 10 years ago and spent three years researching and writing The Emperor of China — the true story of an ambitious 17th Century scoundrel. Katharine works as a writer, story editor and PM, has produced four short films, and co-founded Write Shoot Edit Productions.

Theze Thugz Livez
Michael Northey decided to become an actor at the age of 18. He has since worked in film, television and theatre in Vancouver. Michael has written many successful plays (including This Fringe Venue Is Being Held Hostage and Reservations For Two). Theze Thugz Lives is his first feature screenplay, the result of a visceral desire to see a personal and authentic portrayal of his troubled home neighbourhood.
